Most people feel that sex should not be done during pregnancy, but this is not true. In the first trimester, of course, you do not feel like going close with your partner due to fatigue and nausea. But during the second trimester (3 to 6 months), the reversals usually stop and you start feeling better than before. Love hormones (oxytocin) start growing in your body.

Actually, in the second trimester of pregnancy, your blood flow and secretion both increase. Due to this the amount of love hormones will also increase. This whole process is also called Chadwick. During this time, the vagina starts swelling and the lubricant also increases. In such a situation, I feel like being intimate with the partner.

However, in pregnancy, a lot of things are done about sex in which there is no truth. Dr. Shilpita Shanthappa is telling you about such myths which you believe to be true:

Myth 1 – Having sex during pregnancy can harm the fetus (child).

Truth – during pregnancy, the vagina stretches itself and becomes slightly larger. This is the reason why the heavy layer of mucus (mucus) on the outer side of the uterus freezes, so that during sex, the child is protected inside the uterus.

Myth 2 – Labor pens rise after sex

Truth – It is true that some amount of prostaglandin is present in the semen, due to which you may get some pain. Synthetic prostaglandins are also given during delivery so that you have pain and the baby can come out. But the quantity of semen prostaglandin is very small, so there is no question of getting a labor pen

Myth 3 – Bleeding after sex means having a miscarriage or damage.

Truth – Due to the uterus being sensitive, little blood can come out after sex, which is normal. But if bleeding is more, talk to a doctor immediately.

Myth 4 – Having sex during pregnancy can cause vaginal infection.

Truth – If your partner does not have any sexually transmitted diseases, then you do not have to worry. In such a situation, just keep yourself clean.

Now you must have understood that there is no harm in having sex during pregnancy, but these are the advantages:

  1. This makes your pelvic muscles strong.
  2. Blood circulation is better than sex in pregnancy.
  3. It boosts immunity.
  4. You get good sleep.
  5. And, it keeps love between you two.

That is why do not be afraid to have sex during pregnancy. If you still have any question, please consult your doctor.
